I have so many of them, which one should I choose?
One moment that stands out in my mind was when I was the tender age of sixteen. I had just moved to NYC to do modeling and I was on location for my first job for a major fashion magazine. I was beyond nervous but I tried to play it cool.
I looked anything but.
It was the end of July and I was dressed in leather and wool because we were shooting for the October issue. I was sweating like a pig in high heels. As I teetered around (trying to model!) a small group of on lookers started to grow.
After about five or so minutes there were twenty-five to thirty people standing around watching me. I was mortified! But despite my sweating and the balancing act I was performing in my heels I managed to pull off something that looked semiprofessional.
After about twenty minutes the photographer had gotten his shot. I was feeling pretty confident with myself and started to strut past the crowd back to the location van. I was so focused on everyone else looking at me that I forgot that not only was I wearing super high heels, I also had a very tall and hair sprayed to the heavens beehive style going on with my hair.
Between the shoes and the hair i'm sure I was standing well over my six foot height. I apparently became blind because I promptly ran into some lower branches of a tree. My hair immediately became stuck and I couldn't move without risking yanking my hair out of my head.
Luckily I was rescued by some guy walking down the sidewalk but not before the whole crowd of people noticed what was happening. People started to laugh. Suddenly all of my supermodel pomp and circumstance was washed away. The hair stylist came over yelling at me for wrecking his creation. It took all I had not to break down into tears right on the street.
For the rest of the shoot I was a cowering like a wall flower and couldn't wait to get away from all the people I was working with!

The mental image of this just made me laugh and laugh. Poor thing. But still, so funny.
Always gotta watch out for those low hanging tree branches just lurking there waiting to snag some unsuspecting passerby!
Obviously traumatic at the time, but you can be sure you brightened up a lot of peoples day that afternoon with your mishap, and mine now, by sharing it!
Great post...funny!
I'm sure you were wrecked at the time, but I hope looking back you can see it for the funny that it was and know that you probably made someone's day -- supermodel stuck in a tree: justice for ugly girls everywhere. Great post.
